  1. it should work a BALUN 4:1 is NECESSARY
  2. Pre made , wonderful...and all dimensions should be available before buying it , for trial and error Jomy the supports seems to be PTFE (teflon)
  3. the Blue and RED coax should be NEW CABLES straight to the card...(if possible to solder in there) High losses
  4. BANDWIDTH at 0.4mm diameter would be THIN (some Mhz) thin wire High Q Factor , small bandwidth
  5. bigger diameter most of the times means wider bandwidth (wich is GOOD) some changes in impedance may occur (folded dipole won't change much) it's always 4 times that of a single dipole in free space 288ohm...(that's the reason why you need a BALUN 4:1 most of the times) "The impedance of this antenna is around 300 Ω, so you may want to use a transformer or a λ/4 long piece of 120 Ω coaxial cable to match this impedance to 50 Ω. " Use styrofoam to hold it (polystyrene FOAM , the lighter the better)
  6. GOOD INFO...i read somewhere that elliptical was very good for tree penetration...(most of the time two dipoles angled and 90 degrees delay)
  7. What's the difference between directivity (any polarization) and circular...? MEMO are you still trying with the 3 layer PCB...?
  8. i would put the CENTER line of the oval (folded dipole) aligned with the directors...if possible https://www.wifi-antennas.com/uploads/monthly_2021_01/Captura.JPG.30e5234d97b2075b2469fad7ad1a6c18.JPG
  9. yagi

well any knock off with an AR9271 should work...but firmware makes a big difference I have a 722 and a 721 (both ar9271 , same hardware different firmware) HUGE difference then the rtl8187B was digging up all the APs the 722 left unseen and hacking them on the fly finnally the wn7200 (r3070) with some issues with Linux scripts...
  10. yagi

wikidevi having 0+1+2+aux antennas doesn't seem like the BEST candidate for a single antenna...firmware hardware conflicts...and all for hacking you should try a in 2,4ghz the best are (in that order) TP WN722 (version 1.0 1.1 ONLY) RTL8187 (any flavor but imho 8187 B ,BvE ,SE, L) and any r3070 card
  11. yagi

a good plastic (pet ,ptfe , pp) ring on the DRIVEN element (the one with the inner wire soldered) but simulations shows it doesn't make much difference... the DRIVEN PATCH from the BAR ...drawing in the LEFT
  12. yagi

ALL losses and VSWR , z mismatch...cheap CATV cable is not for 2,4ghz Try a DIRECT COAX from card to antenna (low losses if possible) Also aw1900 is dual band you should try to turn off the 5.8ghz to use this yagi...
  13. and also when you create the template it would calculate for every antenna
  14. https://www.rlocman.ru/shem/schematics.html?di=30999
  15. LOSSES...and 5.8ghz is a BITCH on CHEAP PCBs... PS: i was thinking on a box , thin edged , with 4 slots in phase and a probe quarter wave feeding the whole thing...ALL METAL...
  16. SLOT half wavelength radiator...? It would be nice to put 4 or more and feed it with a PROBE...
  17. Styrofoam is the most TRANSPARENT material (almost no effect on Resonance) , but thin PET is good too...Silicone sealer are NOT recommended (high losses)
  18. if there's movement (wind , manipulation , vibrations) you might experiment ups and downs in signal strength (VSWR , Mismatch impedance, resonance , etc) As long the CONTACT is good , all ok.
  19. what i've notice in the SIMs is that every time you add metal Frecuency of Resonance goes up , a little...you might try to take that into account PS: is that a SIGN or a LICENSE PLATE...?
  20. around 10 dbi if the signal is in the same POLARIZATION...3 db less if lineal source... Jomy should try and make it smaller with the meanders in the circle... 3/8 pipe (9.5mm) refrigerator tubes...
