  1. ...the thing (in practice is i've pointed HIGHLY DIRECTIONAL antennas to REFLECTIONS from routers i know aren't there and still get a good connection...you lose less than 3db by wall (ussually) 2.4ghz goes trough most materials non-metal... the antennas are very similar in PERFORMANCE.... which one is easier to build and keep closer to specs...for YOU...? i think the YAGIs...are easier...
  2. wn722 and ALMOST ALL wifi are 50 ohms standard... long range ...? HOW LONG...? how powerful and sensible each "radio"...? Obstacles or Line of Sight...? 14db at 90% efficiency or more is good for some kilometres without obstacles with a SENSIBLE (-96db or more ) radio (Wn722)...but depends in the router you are connecting to...
  3. on "THESE" getting more than 15dbi means using close to 20 directors...and EVEN then gain of yagis kinda HIT a maximum...maybe 16-17 dbi (Reflector AREA increase GAIN more than adding Directors) Use the BIGGER you can...imho
  4. what are the specs of the substrate (PCB) you're gonna use...? dielectric constant and thickness...
  5. Never over 8 to 9 dbi... (its NOT good) maybe used to feed a dish...
  6. Jomy , what material i should use for the COVER...PVC...? (for that logper)...
  7. working on IT
  8. i'll give it a go...this week...
  9. Still not 21dbi , but getting there... 24.2020H.28-08-09.pdf
  10. The original PAPER is on IEEE ( paid log in ) ALL QRTs MiMo seems to use it... trying to simulate it...so far no luck (i think it's PTFE the substrate...but NO DIMENSIONS ...yet
  11. Original design from which this antenna was "borrowed"..."stolen"... Expanded to 24 db by MikroTik nice port separation , tho...
  12. 180 degrees cancellation...at some frequency...?
  13. the slit horizontal means the antenna is emitting VERTICAL polarized signal you'll see it as 2 or 3 db of increment on the reception side (vertical dipole) LineOfSight no reflections (reflections might have ANY polarization)
  14. 5.4 - 5.5 mm from patch to reflector 17 mm ring 11 - 12 mm from edge to feeding point ALL this settings for DEEP DISHES ...f_D 0.25 to 0.3 The DISH HIGHLY INFLUENCE the FEEDER
  15. yagi

  16. yagi

with the label number model etc...it should have it printed on the sleeve...(eg. RGxx)
  17. they INTERACT for the WORSE ! without simulation ...hard to know...
  18. UK 's Amateur radio unit (3.5ghz) reverse engineered to 2,4 ...working on it Using teflon as dielectric about 30 by 35 cms It SHOULD be closer to 18dbi... Efficiency still low...(depends on DIELECTRIC and Thickness)
  19. metal THICKNESS and DISTANCES...that's all of course SHAPES are of the utmost importance ... every time you PUT a discrete port between two metals on ANY PLACE ...CST would tell you the impedance THERE...
  20. That is called POLARIZATION both RX and TX should have the SAME (type of antenna) (linear) Vertical , Horizontal , CIRCULAR RH LH (used a lot on FM , it gets inside moving cars) , ELIPTICAL . you could get 3db more of signal just by moving the antena 90 degrees...
  21. discrete ports are the probes i'm talking about...coupling is directly calculated every time you use more than one port
  22. 20dbi...hard to swallow... 16...17 ...maybe
