  1. Jomy should try to OPTIMIZE it...
  2. I 've come to LEARN! (the hard way) it would NEVER have a Symmetrical lobe of Radiation... Because it's feed from an A-Symmetrical SIDE... But it does get to 16dbi and closer to 85% Efficiency using NELTEC or Teflon of good quality...(0.7 mm or less thickness).
  3. do you want the .CST...? (easier to do )
  4. Forget to say SLOT FEED PATCHES 1mm Fr4 5 mm to reflector Pinned quarter stub to gnd (reflector)...? PS: NEEDs some fine tunning...yet... Gain could be smaller and VSWR wider under 2:1...
  5. 75ohms/50ohms= 1.5 VSWR + 200ohms/50ohms= 4 VSWR...
  6. What coax are you gonna use...RG...
  7. That's 1:1 balun ...NO IMPEDANCE transformation AFAIK...you need a 4:1
  8. it NEEDs to be 4 (200ohms twin feed line Z) to 1 (50ohms cable and radio) CAN'T use a 1:1 like on dipole... It is just a piece of coax with 2 solder points (lead)...and the shields alltogether (3)
  9. How are the signals COMBINED...? it's some kind of diversity or just added Gain...(like a Single antenna with 6dbi more...or so...)
  10. most critical is parallel feed line (9 to 10mm depending on wire diameter) thicker wire bigger distances...i used 1.5mm and it works like a CHARM , distance to reflector is NOT that critical (it's a very forgiving antenna) around 3 cm... less distance MORE GAIN and VSWR More distance LOWER gain and vswr BALUN is MOST CRITICAL USE the MINIMUN possible ISOLATORS Polystyrene foam (styrofoam low density could be used to replace insulators)
  11. Modem is...? (brand model) (Some RF chips and firmware require BOTH antennas) others do DIVERSITY (old ones) Others have 2 band (2.4-5.8ghz) antennas others are MIMO (2 spatial streams) higher speed What's YOUR GOAL...? 500 meters LOS , should be achieved with 10 dbi directional or even less...(unless your hardware is shitty)
  12. 500 meters ...without obstructions (walls what kind...?) should be easily implemented...BUT you hardware (radio) is important too...Sensibility and power output...(EFFICIENCY is KEY if you are limited on those...and keeping losses at minimum...) 12 dbi Gain , at least should be achieved with that gun...
  13. I like it... the fine mesh wire makes it work as a sheet metal reflector...but WIND LOADs are bigger... we need to get the dimensions for the LogPeriodic feed...
  14. "Increase RANGE" means (in my book) creating a NEW DESIGN by modifying an existing one...(new SIMULATIONS altogether) PS:Of course that better ,bigger, reflector (cylindrical , parabolic , cornered) would get more GAIN (but all other parameters VSWR ,Impedance value and curve , losses , BW , Diagram, etc) would change ...suffer...) adding more directors too...
  15. Link...? 27DBi... ...only on 5.8ghz...hard to get that on 2.4...need more than 1 m2 area...
  16. i think it was 41 mm with PE insulator... The GOO is silicone insulation...(if i build it agai i WOULDN'T put it...you know losses)
  17. 4:1 (four 200 ohms to 1 50 ohms) PS: Fundamental to get right the coaxial Velocity factor Coaxial length...(polyurethane , polyethilene dielectric ) THIS ONE NOT the former link https://www.qsl.net/yu1aw/ANT_VHF/Amos_Ant/InvAmosArray.pdf
  18. This is with a TP LINK kinda of dipole on 1.26 regular parabolic dish...0.2 or so F/d ratio...(hard to feed) https://www.wifi-antennas.com/uploads/monthly_2020_07/5f05b71ad1d7f_126m.JPG.3d12cb9d42e94a87de9f02d81677a212.JPG i like the VE4MA and chaparral feeds for Efficiency...but still collating...not sure (big area both...)
  19. you may wanna study feeds efficiency (spillover ,etc) for you desired Dishes...anything close to 70%or more would be GREAT for your project...(over 20dbi gain should be enough , if there are NO LOSSES (dielectrics , cables , connector , mismatch ,etc) and if it is only BLUETOOTH ,,,you may use high Q factor centered on your band,,,NO need for wide Bandwidth...there
  20. ...17dbi...? more like 14 in my book... (PS:Jomy , what Material is it FR4...?)
  21. only 8dbm (6mw) you might wanna stay AWAY from any DIELECTRIC...(efficiency would be lost ) power would be lost
  22. What are the SUBSTRATE , dielectric constant...and loss...? (Rogers...?) which one...?
