can someone hint me where i can get CST for free ot at reasonable price?
-
Hi, I saw HFSS free student version, 2024r2 i assigned to learning course and learned some basics, when i wanted to check vswr - the student version doesn't support analyzing vswr, then tried to buy license but it's about 60k euros, how the hell this software cost this much i can't understand, now looking into CST

thanks, finally after some attempts it worked perfectly vswr <1.5, forgot to take photos

Hi! I had 2.4Ghz & 5-5.8GHz 14dbi panel antenna, I'm wondering if i want to have signle band antenna like only for 2.4Ghz and only 5.8GHz antenna - can i cut somewhere in middle and still have good vswr? Antenna made of galvanized steel, here is the drawings of it? I tried to cut right next to the soldering pin and assembled antenna but vswr was around 1.8-2.2 while factory vswr is 1.3-1.5 any help is appreciated thanks
-
@clanon thanks yes with that filter added vswr was good, is there a filter for 5.8 too? To make 5.8 at least workable
-
After 10 failed attempts I think deviding was not good idea, so friends just use antenna as it is, hope above information will be useful to someone thanks
-
Yes it become just ordinary service recently, can you give some advices how to change lines?
-
I have at top corners, small square, can you help with that and check on simulation software?
-
You mean lines connecting elements?
-
Which limes?
-
I tried like this but still fail
-
Vswr is good why you think it is not good? I cut right next to solder pin and it showed good results like peak 1.8 at 2.3-2.5ghz with a good cable, but 5.8 didn't work yet
-
okay i will get dimensions asap
-
Most interesting part is that original factory antenna's vswr showing sometimes good vswr, sometimes bad depending on analyzer-antenna cable jumper's position, like if i bend it's good, i'm using jdsu celladvisor
-
I tried both options vswr still high, i placed feed1 a bit higher, to upper square though, it was originally designed with N type connector but i replaced it with cable, should it effect? i will try check sizes and send

have you seen dxf it's correct dimensions
-
here is the dxf file https://disk.yandex.ru/d/HBfm2j3BfYz5qA spacers are made of plastic, bottom 4mm, top 8mm

Any thoughts about this antenna
-
Thanks, I'll try, but I need a little time to remember. By the way, here on the forum I found material on using CST, also useful material. Could you also try to improve this antenna, anyway your experience is invaluable?!
-
So this is not original russian antenna? That's why we need to further simulations ?
-
Yes, I once studied at the university on the subject of "antenna-feeder devices"
-
But it must be adjusted at 1800 MHz, if it's possible could you present CST file.

Greetings to radists In second attempt/episode of "that looks easy, let's do it instead of buying" reality show I finally got 2.5 vswr max in main port and surprisingly amazing 1.8 vswr in second port without cylinders. I suppose vswr in main port is high due to bad soldering, after bending it's like mission impossible to reach this pin. Before bending, soldering is easy but hard to bend. I will try once more, are there any other things I need to consider to get lower vswr in main port i may be not keep in mind. Any suggestions are welcomed Huge thanks to admin for his hints

How come? It's 1700-2200mhz, without cylinders will narrow to 1700-2600mhz? 2) these cylinders are not connected to main antenna in original version, why should I connect it to main part by metal spacer?
-
for what frequency range it will be narrow.
