Simulating a Waveguide with CST Microwave Studio

53 posts in this topic

Hey there,

I'm new at this Forum and i hope i opened this Topic in the right Thread, so I am sorry if this is not the case.

I've tried to Simulate different kind of Waveguides (Coplanar, Stripline etc) with CST MICROWAVE STUDIO.

since i changed from version 2015 to 2017 the Simulation won't start anymore.

It give me a Critical Error called: "Adaptive port meshing failed".

The ports are calculated with the port macro for Waveguides.

I hope some can help me.

Thanks in advance,

Greetings,

Filos

I propose this variant of CPW Stripline, if you do not like, post your transmission line sizes...!!!

I am very limited with dimensons of the Waveguide.

The inner and outer conductor can be changed but the other sizes are fixed.

It's my goal to simulate first the normal waveguide and than the calibration standards (thru load and short)

But at first I would be realy happy if only the simulation starts :/

Thank you so much for your help!

should'nt the second port be turned by 180 degrees?

I've tried to setup the Waveguide your way (with my values) but I still got the same error message.

Maybe the CAD model is to small?

Thanks for the offer, but you don't have to do this for me, especially because I still not know how the short has to look like.
