Biquad as a dish horn?

Directivity is the name of the game today.

I'm trying to do some long range 2.4 GHz. I have a friend who can sell me a big ol' satellite dish (~1 meter diameter).

- A bi-quad is cheap and efficient, but is it the best of the bunch.

- Cantenna's are much harder to make here, no tubes of proper size available locally.

- Maybe a rectangular wave-guide? Would be easy to machine out of some clean, reflective copper.

- Yagi's are nice and easy, but if one has so much room for imagination, why not go straight for gold?

Aiming for first few channels of 2.4 GHz range (2420 MHz?). Most routers seem to default to it.

Then it must be this one.

Thought you were joking for a second, there. How wrong I was...

This must be the easiest 12 dBi out there.

Thx

I don't think this type of adaptation covers a high frequency band with an impedance of 50 Ohm...

,,,,yes, but behind the omni antenna, you need a conical, elliptical, paraboloid reflector...!!!
